School Bus Routes:

A new webpage has been added to the Bus Transportation section of the Flagler County School District website. In addition to the online system (E-Link), where you type in your address to get your route name and times, you can now access the bus routes by school.

Or, from the transportation home page, just click on the "Bus Routes 2011-2012"  heading. All the schools are listed (even the charter schools) and once you click on a school, a PDF pops up and lists the route and times. This page is a provided as a back-up to the E-Link system, just in case the E-Link server has issues and is unresponsive.

This year, the two-mile walking distrance is being strictly enforced. With this in mind, all parents should check the transportation website and your route, as some routes on the fringe of the two mile limit will not be available this year. A thorough review of all bus routes has also shown that most middle and high school routes are now combined. These procedures have resulted in savings to the school district of over $300,000. As far as the combined routes, the bus drivers are instructed to seperate middle from high school. Walking Zones:

Elementary Schools: 

Students that live within one (1) mile of their "home zoned school" will not be provided bus transportation. 

Middle and High Schools:

Students that live within two (2) miles of their "home zoned school" will not be provided bus transportation.

By law, the State of Florida provides transportation funding for regular education students that live 2 or more miles from the school. The exception to this is for those students receiving special needs services through placement in an Exceptional Education Program, and have an active Individual Education Plan (IEP).
