Delegation Representing Flagler Schools travels to "Rally in Tally" in Support of Education

Flagler County schools were well represented by a vocal group of dedicated parents, teachers, administrators, school board members and students that attend the Rally in Tally on Wednesday, March 18th to support adequate education funding for Florida schools. Overall, thousands gathered in Tallahassee at the foot of the Capitol on a bright and warm spring day to make sure our voices were heard!

The energetic group left the Government Services Complex at 6:30 am, and arrived at the Capitol at 10:30 am. At 11:00, the rally, sponsored by the Florida PTA, started and the crowd listened and cheered along with a number of state education leaders.

At 12:15 pm, everyone gathered in room 216 of the Capitol building, and listened to energetic speaches from school board members Evie Schellenberger, Colleen Conklin and Andy Dance. Additionally, they heard from Colleen Wood, the founder of "50th-No- More.Org, Lawton "Bud" Chiles III and his concerns about the dismantling of the Lawton Chiles Endowment Fund, and Representative Bill Proctor. After that, it was time to head back to beautiful Flagler County!
