Flagler Group Attends 2010 Education "Rally In Tally"

The Flagler County School District had a small group of district leaders and teachers attend a state-wide rally in Tallahassee on March 25th to support a wide range of education issues.

This was a perfect time to make their thoughts known regarding school funding, Senate Bill 6 (Thrasher), FCAT, class size and other issues affecting our children and schools.

More than two thousand parents, teachers and other educators gathered on the steps of the Florida Capitol Thursday, chanting "No More Cuts". Groups from all over the state gathered for the 90-minute rally, including our own Flagler County delegation led by school board members Andy Dance and Colleen Conklin and ITMS principal Michelle Crosby.

The group had a meeting planned with Representative Bill proctor, but he was delayed in a House committee hearing and could not talk to his gathering of constituents.
